What is Cinemartani?

Established in 2015 in Yogyakarta, Cinemartani is inspired by the philosophy of the word cinema as a meeting field of film and martani which can be interpreted as "who provides livelihood" (Kawi language) and "who gives knowledge" (Javanese). Cinemartani is a research institute and film archive that prioritizes equality of opportunity in film, with three foundations, namely film as a work of art, science, and democratic space. Why do we exist?
